IN RESPONSE - Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia
2002

This was the second (2nd) venue for the installation titled grace, originally commissioned by the Hudson River Museum for the exhibition tilted The Magic of Light in 2001. grace, was originally made as a tower of light meant to interact with a work by Dan Flavin permanently installed in the museum’s main skylight, but was forever-changed by the attacks of the extreme al Qaeda militants on the day of September 11, 2001. As a result of these real-life events, grace became a memorial of those who lost their lives that day - all the civilians, emergency personnel, un-documented workers and the 19 militants themselves - all victims of failed global policies and aggressions.
