commissions
Pietro Costa has, for the past twenty years, designed, fabricated, and installed art works for both the public and private sector. He spent fourteen years at the Guggenheim Museum, helping artists to create their works and exhibit them worldwide.
As Richard Serra’s Sculpture, Fabrication, and Exhibition Installation Supervisor, for three years Costa helped Mr. Serra accomplish monumental projects at institutions such as DIA Center for the Arts in New York, MOCA Los Angeles, Guggenheim Bilbao, as well as at a number of private collections. Costa organized and managed the production, fabrication, and installation of all of Mr. Serra’s work during that time.
As a consultant, Costa has been involved in three construction projects while at the Guggenheim Museum – the Gwathmey Siegel addition to the original Frank Lloyd Wright spiral, the Arata Isozaki design and adaptation of the Guggenheim Soho and the development and construction of Frank O. Gehry’s Guggenheim Bilbao. Costa’s knowledge and familiarity with the creative and technical process of architecture affords him a unique set of skills to provide site specific works of art for public and private clients alike.
